Whether you are building a shed or conservatory, laying a patio, or surfacing your driveway. The quality of the ready mixed concrete you use will have a big part in the success of your building work and by choosing Essex Concrete & Screed, you can be sure you’ll receive the best concrete at the most competitive price.
Ready mixed concrete is made up of differing levels of water, aggregate and cement, depending on the type of solution you need. Our ready mixed concrete is blended on-site within 7 seconds, fresh and ready to use.
The alternative to ready mix is to have the various materials delivered to your site separately and for the mixing to happen there. This is often a slower process as the mixing takes time, and it’s less environmentally friendly as usually the cement is delivered in bags which generates packaging waste. This option can also produce different consistencies which will result in different strengths and colours.
Our team of experienced professionals are highly trained and equipped with the necessary tools to ensure that the ready mix concrete is mixed to the exact specifications required for your project. With our on-site mixing process, you can be confident that your concrete will be delivered promptly and efficiently, saving you time and money on your construction project.
Here’s a selection of the concrete mixes that are most frequently used for domestic projects:
We’re always happy to help customers choose the right type and amount of concrete for the job, so if you’re unsure, please call us.
We only ever charge for the concrete you use. So if you order 3m3 of ready mixed concrete but actually only use 2m3, we’ll only charge you for that 2m3. And if you need more than you’ve ordered, as long as there’s enough in the delivery vehicle (which can carry up to 9m3) we can meet your needs.
As a business founded and built in Essex, we’re determined to help people in our local community get the quality cement they need to improve or extend their homes.
We deliver ready mixed concrete to the following areas: Basildon, Benfleet, Chelmsford, Grays, Maldon, Rayleigh, Southend, Wickford.

We usually offload via our 5m chute, onto a plastic sheet, into a skip, or into wheelbarrows. It usually takes a maximum of 10 minutes to offload each cubic metre of concrete. Our delivery drivers cannot wait longer than 10 minutes per cubic metre as they will most likely have other deliveries to make. But they will be happy to offer advice and assistance where possible.
We use a sliding scale to work out our prices. The bigger your order, the bigger the discount we can give you. Please call for a bespoke quote or use our online calculator. We take payment after delivery. No deposit is required.
You will have ten minutes per cubic metre with which to offload.
